A few finishes and a fresh start

I have been busy as always in the sewing room.  I had a request to make a lunch bag for my daughter, Nicole.  It turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself:

lunch bag_edited-1I dug into my Kaffe Fassett collection and put it to good use.  The inside of this lunch bag includes a pouch for an ice pack or maybe a snack.  It’s also lined with Insul-Brite which should keep things cool (or warm).

lunch bag book I love the way the bag turned out, but I don’t think I’ll be making another one any time soon.  It was a lot of work!  I must be a visual learner because I was lost without many diagrams or pictures.

My next finish is really just a sneak peek.  It’s so hard for me to keep a secret!  I have been working on my tutorial for the Christmas in July Blog Hop.  I made a Patriotic version of my project and I can’t wait to show you the whole thing!  But we must be patient….

patriotic runner_edited-1And I really shouldn’t be starting a new project, but I just can’t resist this pattern, Metro Rings, by Sew Kind of Wonderful.  I’ve picked up some blue and brown batiks and I’ll see what I can find in my stash too.  I already think I’m going to like it:

I’m looking forward to getting some quilting done over the long 4th of July holiday.  I hope you all enjoy yours!

  3. I have made quite a few purses, make-up bags and pillowcases, and did make a diaper bag; Urban Diaper bag by Izzy and Ivy.(I don’t want to make another soon). It was for our first Great-granddaughter.
I like the lunch bag and may try that. It looks like it might be a bit harder than the Diaper bag was.

  4. Your lunchbag is really sharp! Good thing it is for somebody special! (after all of the hard work!) Probably the second time making one would be easier, since you know what to expect now!

Can’ t wait to see the Christmas in July project!
