Fat Quarter Shop’s BOM Month 4 Tips

I just finished the fourth block for Fat Quarter Shop’s 2013 Designer Mystery BOM.

Here are my tips when making this block:

  • I over-sized all of the units (except the middle one) and then trimmed them down to 4 1/2″ squares.
  • This meant that I started with 5″ squares for the red fabric and 5 1/2″ squares for the aqua and white fabrics.
  • Press the quarter square triangle halves in opposite directions as shown by the pressing arrows in the photo below:

Here are my four blocks so far:

  3. I do not see a basket, but it is a snazzy block! Thanks for the tips. I like to oversize when I can too. By the way, I got a 3rd place on my table topper, Winter Seeds:) Everyone just loves your pattern.
