Sew Thankful Sunday, 09.08.2013

Hey everybody!  I’m a little late today, but I have some great stuff to share with you that I am sew thankful for!  I love finding so many treasures on the internet and passing them along to you.  It’s my way of paying it forward!

(Remember, you can click on any image and it will take you to the associated link.)

1.  Shontelle from England Street Quilts has a free pattern that uses jelly rolls and it’s quite lovely!  The pattern can be downloaded in a pdf format – I’ve got mine already!  It’s very well done and I love that it’s quick and easy.

2.  Do you like mini-quilts?  Anorina at Samelia’s Mum has an adorable one to share called “Life is Better with Friends”.  This is part of her 52-week Scrap Challenge where you’ll find small projects to use up your scraps each week.  I might have a few (thousand) scraps lying around that would love to be sewn up!

3.  Jennifer @ Gable House & Co. is starting a new block of the month called Down the Rabbit Hole.  It’s a sampler quilt with a medallion style setting.  It looks like you will learn lots of techniques in the process, and I love the lay out!

4.  The big debate goes on:  do you prewash your fabric or not?  You’ll find a good discussion at the Craftsy Blog on the pros and cons of each.  Personally, I like to work with unwashed fabric and I haven’t had a reason to change my mind.  How about you?

5.  If you’re like me, you could use some help organizing all of the WIP’s, block-of-the-months, quilting bees, fabric stash, and new project ideas.  Julie at 627 Handworks has developed The Quilting Bee app, to make your quilting life easier.

6.  Ros at Sew Delicious has a cute and scrappy zip pouch tutorial that she is sharing as part of the Spring has Sprung blog hop hosted by Lil Pip Designs.  Yes, in parts of the world such as Australia it is Spring time!

7.  The Size Matters Blog Hop hosted by Moda has started and you can find all of the details at their blog, The Cutting Table.  This is a great opportunity to see various quilt blocks in different sizes and receive free patterns too!

8.  How would you like the luxury of taking a sewing class without leaving your home?  You might want to check out Daily Craft TV, where you can take online classes on a variety of crafts.  This is hosted by Fons & Porter, the quilting experts!

Thanks for stopping by today and for your patience.  I had a house full of company this weekend, on top of a few classes to teach and a wedding to attend!  Whew! Enjoy the rest of your day!
