Wednesday’s W.i.P.

I have a few things to show you that I’m working on and one finished quilt (yipee)!

I fell in love with the Supersized Sampler at Little Miss Shabby.  So, I followed Corey’s excellent tutorials and made my own patchwork stars.  You can click on any of the images below and it will open up a new tab to the original post with instructions.

You might recognize some of Denyse Schmidt’s fabric in those blocks.

These blocks are 18″ square!  I made one change from the original pattern; I changed all of the corner squares to half-square triangles.  I think I’m going to make two more blocks so that I can make them into a lap-size quilt (next year).

I finished this quilt for my daughter, Sara:

I put Minkee on the back and quilted it myself.  Each color-square has this design in variegated thread:

Yesterday I received a nice package in the mail…. this fat quarter bundle of Bungalow by Joel Dewberry for Free Spirit Fabric.

I won a giveaway on Joel Dewberry’s blog and I was so ecstatic!  I’d love to use my new collection to make this (free) pattern (coming soon):

I think I need the honeysuckle color palette, too!  But for now, I’m happy with this.
