October UFO update

It’s already beyond the midpoint of October and I haven’t even mentioned my October UFO project for this month!  Time is really starting to tick around here.

Hello 2016, Goodbye UFO's

I’m working on a table runner that I started last Fall.  I almost forgot it existed!  There’s a drawer in my sewing room that has kits and projects that I started or that I want to start, and I should be looking in that drawer more often.  This table runner is going to be finished just in time for Thanksgiving.  I think I’ll call it Pumpkin Spice.

I had some American Made Brand solids that I wanted to use, so I came up with this warm, gradated pattern.  It’s a little bright now that I see it with fresh eyes, but someone in my family might like it.  I do like the splash of colors against the neutral tan fabric.

I already had a backing ready to go, so now I’m on to the basting and quilting stage.  I think straight lines on the sides of each seam will be it for quilting; maybe some variegated thread to add interest.

  1. You have inspired me to pick up an old quilting project from last year with pieced autumn leaves. However, I also saw your Autumn Reflections wall hanging and now I want to do something like that, too!

  2. Love your color selections in your table runner! Well, I finally finished the UFO I thought I would get done in September –a quilted travel cosmetic bag for my daughter. It turned out just as beautifullyrics as I hoped.

  3. Hi Julie,

I love your table runner it’s so vibrant and the straight lines give it a simple but elegant look. It will look perfect on your Thanksgiving table. Please post apicture of it when it’s finished.
    Thanks.

  4. I am working on a quilt for my Father that was supposed to be for Father’s Day this year. Yet a variety of events happened and it kept being set aside; I got it out last night and began sewing up the scrappy half square triangles. I now have a goal of having it finished in time for your link up. Such a wonderful motivation of special gifts. I hope that you accomplish your goal and finish your lovely table runner! Have a fantastic creative day!
