September UFO winners & October giveaway winner

There were some amazing quilt projects added to the UFO link up for September.  Way to go!  I used the true random number generator to pick two winners from the link up.

The first winner is #4, Paula N. She made this adorable “Baby Quilt for Now 1 yr. Old”.  She also sent me a picture of Alexander enjoying his new quilt.

I asked everyone to leave a comment telling me your favorite season and/or holiday.  Out of 186 comments, the true random number generator chose #31, Janie.  She said,

My favorite season is fall. The colors, and baking begins!

I love fall, too, for those same reasons and I would say that it’s my favorite.  But I also love all of the seasons; I seem to be ready for the change in weather by the time it gets here.  There’s something about each one that I enjoy.

I loved reading everyone’s comments and hearing about what makes you enjoy one particular season or holiday over another.  Some of you are quite poetic!  For many of you, it seems to depend on what part of the world you live in.  By the numbers, Fall is the favorite season followed by Spring.  Christmas was declared the best holiday with Thanksgiving and Halloween right behind.

Thanks, everyone, for participating in the giveaway and taking the time to comment.  I wish I could respond to all of them, but it’s difficult with so many.  Accept this as my “blanket” thank you and I appreciate all of your words!  I’ll be back on Friday with some Fall inspiration.

  1. Hi Julie,

Of all the quilting/crafty emails I receive I always enjoy yours the most. You are always so willing to share ideas and pictures with us and you don’t “push” the sale of your products. Your love of quilting and crafting really comes through in your emails. My all time favorite email from you was the the one we received recently of all the quilts displayed in a garden setting along with the pictures of plants and vegetables. That was beautiful. Thanks so much Julie.

  2. Congratulations to your winners! That first quilt is spectacular! The baby is so adorable and gives a real good idea of the size of the lion! Such a pretty table topper, Julie! Very festive arrangement. Happy fall! XO

  3. Thank you Julie! This is special to me as Baby Kostak was born last night at 10:06 p.m., 10 weeks early. Mom and baby (and proud dad) doing well, but it will be difficult to leave Byron James in the hospital until his actual due date which is Dec 22. I look forward to him to be able to snuggle in his blanket. 🙂

Your seasonal projects and decorative displays are always beautiful. I can’t want till see what the next project will be!!

  4. Fall is that amazing season that cools and slows down the Earth. I welcome the cool breezes and the cascading leaves of color. Fall is like a comfort food. I always look forward to tasting its sweet rewards.
