October UFO winners and my November project

There were some beautiful and amazing projects finished last month!  I would have a hard time picking winners myself for the UFO link up, so I’m glad there’s a true random number generator to do it for me.  For October’s link up, the first winning number is 30, Lisa Marie.  Lisa made this beautiful flannel quilt which has been a UFO since 2002!  She will donate it to a local organization to provide warmth for someone in need.

The second winning number is 10, Amy M.  Amy made a Christmas Mini Quilt just in time for the holidays!  I love this design – aren’t mini’s fun (and fast)!

Congratulations ladies!  You will each receive a prize package in the mail soon.

Here we are in the middle of November and I’m just now contemplating this month’s UFO project.  I’ve decided to prevent the creation of another UFO by finishing up my quilt top from Maggie’s First Dance BOM.  That counts, right?  I’ll be giving this to my great-niece who will be here for Thanksgiving.  I’d better get going!

What are you working on for November?  It’s getting harder to squeeze in these UFO projects as we get closer to the holidays and the end of the year.  Maybe you’ll take the prevention route like I did.  That’s o.k.!  We all do what we need to do.  Feeling guilty takes the fun out of our creative process, so I try not to go there.  Who needs the extra stress?

Now that I’ve said all that, let me motivate you (without the guilt) with this month’s prize package.  It will include 3 yards of fabric (either The Cottage Garden from Riley Blake OR Simon & Kabuki for Quilting Treasures), Friction pen and 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ Creative Grids ruler.

Happy Quilting!
