May favorites

This month has slipped through my fingers, so I had better share my May favorites with you before it’s gone!  Every month I like to share a few things that I’m loving on that aren’t necessarily quilt related (but they often are)!

I have been enjoying the new Quilt Theory Patterns.  Have you seen them?  They are simple and modern patterns by a group of designers that I really enjoy.  The patterns are a great value at $3 each, so it’s definitely worth checking out!

I have discovered Norwex products and they are fantastic!  Up until a few weeks ago, I had been trying to get my stainless steel appliances clean and streak free.  My sister came to visit (she’s a Norwex consultant – I’m linking to her) and she brought me an Envirocloth and Window cloth.  I was amazed at how easily and well they worked.   My windows and appliances have NO streaks (and I’m not using any manufactured chemicals in the process.)

I love the Modern Barn Blocks from Put a Quilt On It.  You don’t need a barn to display these beautiful, all-weather quilt blocks.  Finally, quilting makes it to the outdoors!  These are definitely trending!

If you’re looking for a unique gift for someone, check out Yount Street Glass.  Located in the Napa Valley, they make unique, hand-crafted jewelry from recycled wine bottles and sustainable cork.  You’ll find everything from necklaces, bracelets, and earrings that are designed to catch the sunlight and help save the planet.

My most recent and current favorite book is Just the Essentials by Adina Grigore, the founder of S.W. Basics.  I read it cover-to-cover and bought a copy of it for my daughter, too.  It shows you “how essential oils can help heal your skin, improve your health and detox your life.”  Adina has a humorous style of writing and includes plenty of DIY recipes to try and lots of information about these natural powerhouses.

Today is Memorial Day in the U.S. and Fat Quarter Shop is having a special sale to commemorate.  Make sure to check them out and enjoy some patriotic shopping.

I want to mention that my monthly favorites are not sponsored by anyone (although Fat Quarter Shop is one of my sponsors).  These are picked by me “just because”.  They are something I would tell my friends about and that definitely includes you!

A certain someone has asked for some blog-space/time today, so please indulge him:

A note from Mr. Crafty Quilter and family:

Today is Mrs. Crafty Quilter’s birthday. We wish her a lovely and wonderful birthday.  We truly do love our amazing wife, mother, friend, artist, and blogger.

Thanks for spending this special moment with me!  Enjoy your day!
