Time to catch up

Just a quick hello and catch up today!  It gets busy behind the scenes here and blogging “jobs” get priority, but I’m also active at the quilt shop that I work and teach at.  I’ve just finished a cute little advent calendar pattern for the Santa’s Workshop at The Granary Quilt Shop (which is tomorrow.)  I’ll be releasing the pattern on my blog next week.  Here’s a little peak!

Hexagon Advent Calendar @ The Crafty Quilter

On Monday, I’ll be showing you my block for Jacquelynne Steves’ I Love Home BOM.  It’s been so much fun making these blocks and this is the last one before we put them all together!

I’m traveling to my parent’s house tomorrow morning (a 2 1/2 hour drive) for my great niece’s baptism.  Speaking of tomorrow, I will be late with November’s Sew Thankful Sunday, but it should show up in your inbox by Wednesday.  There will be lots of goodness to share, so it’s worth waiting for!

I’m working on some free Christmas projects to share with you guys this month, too.  It’s a busy month for sure!

And this little munchkin was keeping me and Mr. Crafty Quilter busy and entertained last weekend.  We had an awesome time visiting our granddaughter, Amelia, and her parents.  We should find out if Amelia is going to have a baby sister or brother this week!

I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!  Happy quilting!

  1. Julie I love the photo tutorials the best because It is easier for me to follow the tutorial I have to study the photo for awhile before I can understand what I am to do. I am also hard of hearing so it is easier for me to see the steps not moving so fast.

  2. I really like the photos of the critical sections of the process, it gives me a chance to really study them. Your granddaughter is a beautiful child, so precious. I have 2 small grand-kiddos myself. Life is good. I am new to your blog, it is a very friendly site!

  3. I like video directions because I can stop and start them and re-watch if I need. Your granddaughter is darling makes me miss mine that are far away.

  4. How adorable! I know you miss her so much in between visits! How exciting she will have a sibling. My son, his wife and baby Byron who turned 1, will be moving 10 min from grandma and grandpa 🙂 We are so excited. Everyone is getting a quilted gift this year and something store bought. I hope to have the few things left done soon in time for your Christmas crafts –which i am ALREADY looking forward to. I picked up an Advent (3) calendar in a Branson quilt shop on vacation and hope to make me a new one this year. My old one was also a panel of about 20+ years ago when we used the fabric paint in the bottles to decorate. My have times changed but the old calendar will be going to my daughter as she still loves decorating it even at her age (she will be 24 this month). I’ll check your post at lunch on Wednesday…… 🙂

  5. Love the little “sneak peek”. That little grand daughter of yours is getting big and she always looks so happy!!! Looking forward to your next post. I need some good ideas with the holidays coming up. Enjoy your visit with your parents. Stay save and God Bless you all.

  6. Your Advent Calendar peek looks nice. I’m glad to see you and Mr. Crafty Quilter were able to force yourself to go to Texas and play with that little doll! I chuckled a little when you said “…..visiting our granddaughter, Amelia, and her parents” In the “olden” days, you would have said, “we went to see the kids”. Now that you have a grand and a half, “the kids” are an afterthought….lol. Of course, that’s because our grandkids are God’s reward for not killing our kids when they were younger…..lol.

  7. I saw your quilt online. It was a white table runner with three green and red flowers. Is there a pattern available? Thanks- Susan
