Sew Thankful Sunday will be later this week

Hi everyone. I have some deadlines fast approaching, which means Sew Thankful Sunday is running a little behind schedule.  I hope to have it ready later this week.

In the meantime, you can always check out last year’s Sew Thankful Sunday for March, 2017 for some Spring sewing ideas.  As a matter of fact, March 2016 is a good one too!

Here’s a sneak peak at the quilt I’m working on now for a blog hop with Benartex this week.  I’ll have more to share in the days ahead, but I love working with this fabric line.

Sneak peak by Julie Cefalu @ The Crafty Quilter. Featuring ruler work on a domestic machine.

This is my first time trying out ruler work on a domestic machine.  It’s a learning process!  I have a special free motion foot on my sewing machine designed to work with the clear acrylic rulers as seen in the above photo.  I’ve had this one sitting in my drawer for about 4 years!

I’ve been making more Ombre Heart quilt blocks (on a smaller scale).  Our cat, Zoe, thought she would help out with the block placement.  Why wouldn’t you just plop down in the middle of all those hearts?

That’s it for now.  I’ve got to get quilting!  And don’t forget you can still watch Craftsy Unlimited for free today.  In between watching The Oscars, of course.

Happy Sunday!

    1. Just do it! I have several rulers now and am teaching myself. If you’re comfortable with free motion quilting on your domestic you’ll do just fine!

  4. My dog does the same thing! I love the ombre hearts and look forward to Sew thankful, whenever it gets posted.

  5. I have the same “problem” at my house with my kitty quilt inspectors. But I have four, so you can imagine how much “help” i have! Love your blog!

  6. Love the picture with Zoe, we had a Zoe as well. Am very interested in the ruler you are using for the straight line quilting. Maybe in the future you could show us how it is used. Don’t thinks I have seen one before.
