Happy Halloween and travel adventures

Happy Halloween!  Can you believe it?  It seems like I’ve had some big events that have been off in the distant future that are now here and gone.  And there is still more to come, with Thanksgiving and Christmas around the corner.

October has been busy here starting with travel to Austin and ending with a road trip to the Pacific Northwest to visit our middle daughter, Nicole, and her girlfriend, Makayla.  We rented an RV and hit the road for a week and one of our bigger adventures with our dog Cooper.   We saw some beautiful Fall color in Washington and Oregon, and some rain of course!

Our youngest daughter, Sara, flew up to Seattle to meet us for the weekend.  It was great having the girls together (minus our oldest daughter, Kelly).

We were a little limited in our activities because of Cooper, but we found some dog-friendly restaurants and breweries.  Our favorite was the Purple Cafe in Woodinville.  We had a delicious brunch, and we all ordered a flight of mimosas.  I had never heard of a mimosa flight, but it was so fun to try champagne mixed with blood orange, mango and guava juice.  It looked like Fall in a glass!  If you’re ever in that area, you should definitely try it.

We are now settled back home with a huge “to do” list.  I have to get ready to lead this weekend’s BOM class at my local quilt shop (not even close to being ready).   The next Save The Bees block needs to get finished, photographed and blogged by Monday.  Then there is all the normal household stuff, a few more upcoming classes, and a trip to Mexico before hosting Thanksgiving two days after we return.  I can’t even wrap my head around Christmas yet!

Any who, I know this is a busy time for everyone.  I count my blessings every day!  I want to remind everyone that you have until tomorrow, November 1, 2018, at midnight PST, to purchase my Patchwork Pumpkins pattern while it’s still on sale for $6.  You can go here to purchase the pdf pattern.

I hope you all have a safe and happy Halloween.  Enjoy all of the treats and maybe a trick or two!

  1. HI Julie,
Love to hear about your adventures and glad you had family time. My son and daughter in law lived in the Seattle area for a few years and I loved to go out there and visit…so pretty! Cooper seemed to be enjoying himself, too.
I went to Craftsy to order the pumpkin pattern and it only accepts PayPal. Is that right ? Or am I missing another way to pay? Help!
