Sew Thankful Sunday – 12-30-2012
I love the “pay it forward” notion and Sew Thankful Sunday is my way to highlight the beautiful things others are doing in the blog world and perhaps to share a few things that I am grateful for personally.
So let’s start with Alyssa at Pile ‘O Fabric. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because I mentioned her last week too! She is hosting a free Skill Builder Block of the Month and will introduce two new blocks each month which will emphasize a different piecing technique or quilting skill.
To get you geared up, Alyssa gives you a great color theory lesson in her recent post, Fabric and Color Choice.
I think this will be a great opportunity to learn some new techniques and Alyssa will be using the “quilt as you go” method – something I have been wanting to try. I hope you join in the fun!
Since it’s almost the beginning of a new year, I have been searching for a new daily planner. There are lots of free printable options on the internet and to make your search easier, Judy at Contented at Home gives you ten to check out.
Her original post of “10 Free Printable Daily Planners” gives you even more options! I am so grateful that Judy has put all of this information in one place (or two)!
Another option which I’m considering is to customize your own planner. Kyla at Kyla Roma has a great post on Making a Custom Day Planner that you should check out.
Kyla also provides some free printables for monthly and weekly pages that you can print and customize to suit your needs.
And if you’re a blogger, Jolanthe from Homeschool Creations has put together a beautiful blog planner here. This totally looks like me – love the colors and the butterflies!
If anyone can recommend a good computer program to make your own calendar/planning pages, I’d love to hear about it. I’m a little challenged in that department!
If you’re still looking for some good end-of-the-year shopping deals, here are a few to check out:
Hundreds of items marked down at Fat Quarter Shop’s end of year sale!
From December 25 thru January 5 use Mad About Patchwork’s coupon 12DAYS to save an additional 12% on your entire order (includes Kona cotton, Kaffe Fasset Collective, batiks, polka dot basics, fleece, books & patterns, perle cotton and rulers).
And at Hancock’s of Paducah you can still save 20% on your purchase until January 1st, 2013.
And since 2013 is right around the corner, I found a lovely New Year’s resolution printable at Sara Dawn Designs:
This is going on my desk/wall for sure! I think Sarah has captured some positive goals beautifully. While you’re visiting her blog, you should check out her other crafty ideas and be inspired!
I think I’ll end today’s post with that. I wish you all a beautiful and safe New Year’s Eve and a happy and healthy 2013!
