Gifts in the mail, and a sale
I was doing the happy dance just a few minutes ago! I received the sweetest gift in the mail from my blogging buddy, Amy, at Amy Made That!
I love my new pincushion! Thank you, Amy! It’s just too stinkin’ cute, and I will definitely put it to good use. Amy has been busy making lots of pincushions and you can see her lovely pincushion centers and coordinating fabric (in the making) here.
And I have been busy using my new stash to create new things! Remember this stack of teal fabric I recently acquired?
It is fast becoming curved strips for a new quilt:
And I made two mug rugs from the Moda Candy pack that I bought, but I forgot to take a picture before I gifted them away! I’ll try to make another one soon and take pics so you can see how it went.
Last but not least, I know you guys enjoy a good sale, and you can find one at Craftsy this weekend. Enjoy up to 80% off all inspiring project kits and supplies. I saw some amazing deals on fabric (not that I need anymore). Shop now to find your next awesome project during the Stash Of Possibilities Sale. Hurry, offer ends at 11pm PST on February 24, 2014.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! See you on Sunday!

The pin cushion is adorable and those teals are scrumptious! Looking forward to seeing your quilt!
Julie, you are a lucky girl! What a thoughtful pincushiony gift! Makes me want to take a break from my bigger projects and focus on some cute little scrappy items! I’ve been working with teal, too, and am finding it to be such a fun color!
I’m so glad you love the pinnie – and sew happy it has a wonderful home!
What a precious pincushion! How lovely! Love the teal and seeing them all pieced in little rows. I love anything with curved piecing, Julie. This is going to be sweet!
Hi Julie! I really love those colors together! That looks like a QCR pattern. Is it Metro Rings? I seem to recall you working on one similar in blue and brown batiks. If my memory is right (rare, really) how did that one turn out? I have had a pile of batiks and the pattern waiting for me but haven’t found the fabrics for the corners yet so there my pile sits!
