December UFO winners announced
We ended the Hello 2016 Goodbye UFO challenge for 2016 with a bang! There were 42 entries in the December UFO challenge and I’m so impressed with all of the finishes.
December UFO Winners
It’s impossible for me to pick the winners on my own so they were randomly picked by the True Random Number Generator. (You are all winners to me and if I had the means, you’d each be getting a prize.) This month’s winning numbers are 33 and 38.
Leslie K. is lucky #33 with her adorable baby quilt. I love the mix of colors and the quarter square triangles. This quilt is going to make one baby very happy!
The next winner is #38, Amanda B., who made this beautiful wall hanging for her mom. The hand embroidery makes this a really special gift.
Congratulations to you both! I’ll be sending out a prize package as soon as I receive your mailing address.
I can honestly say that I would not have finished as many “old” projects as I did if it weren’t for this challenge. I like to lead by example and it was a great motivator for me to get one UFO completed each month. I didn’t quite reach my goal for June, July or December, but I’m OK with that. Life leads us in different directions sometimes, and life needed to be enjoyed rather than endured.
Here is a recap of my completed UFO’s for 2016:
I’m ready to start some new projects and still keep my UFO pile in check. I definitely don’t want to add to my pile – maybe that should be my goal this year? I’ll let you know how it goes! Here’s to a new year and new projects!

Thanks for all of your inspiration. I was able to finish several projects this year and your encouragement was a big help in that. Your finishes for 2016 are pretty impressive. I am looking forward to joining some quilt-along projects this year and to crossing off a few of my UFO’s.
Thank you very much! I am so happy to have been chosen as one of the winners this month. I enjoy seeing your finished projects and those made by others. I want to thank you for having the UFO challenge, it really did inspire me to get a few of my “older” UFO projects completed. I am trying to stay on track and finish even more.
Julie, I loved seeing all your finishes, but got rather discourage as my UFO’s increased significantly this year. Right now all my UFO’s are to be queen size quilts, so that complicates getting many finished. Maybe I can follow your lead and get more done this year. One of my UFO’s is A-Z for Ewe and Me that you have pictured above. I loved the videos that you provided on The Quilt Show. They helped me sew with confidence. I will be very interested in seeing how you quilt it.
I would love it if you would share with me where to get the pattern for Snow Flowers, also above. I tried searching online, but everything I found was different from your Snow Flowers.
Keep up being that Crafty Quilter
Congratulations Julie!!! Job well done for such a busy lady. I got a few projects done but not one each month. I plan to try again this year. Look forward to your posts.
Wow!
I wish I will be able to finished my ufos. Will try really hard this year. I’m still learning. Happy New Year to you and yours. Have your books, such an inspiration, and well done. Thanks for tutorials. Love your Website
Your sewing room looks inviting and wonderful. I’m impressed! Thanks for all the inspiration you give me.
Congrats to December’s winners!
Thank you, Julie, for hosting the challenge. I didn’t have a quilt completed each month, but I’m happy with the ones I did complete! I hope we all continue to work through our UFOs and WIP! Happy New Year!
Lots of great finishes, I especially like the a-z sampler. Thank you for stating you didn’t make all of your goals, and that you are ok with that. Nice to hear others are in the same place….
Hi, Julie! I’ve loved seeing everyone’s projects for all of 2016. Your UFO Project was a big help to me! It got me organized at the beginning of the year. That’s a new tradition that I’ve already carried into 2017 🙂 I didn’t finish every UFO–some new quilts just had to be made, too–but I finished several. Thank you for the inspiration that you share with each blog entry!!! I truly appreciate your expertise, artistry, and enjoyable and informative writing.
Wow! Good job!!!
