Summer Fun Quilt Along, Link up and giveaway
Hey everyone! The Summer Fun Quilt Along is wrapping up with a link up so we can see everyone’s quilt and so you can be entered into the giveaway. To me, this is the fun part. I love seeing the different fabric selections and personal flavor that you add to your own quilt.
I know many of you are looking for ideas to quilt your project. I wish I had something to show you, but I’ve had such a busy week that I don’t even have mine basted yet. I’ll get to it next week, though. It’s not necessary to have your quilt quilted in order to add it to the link-up.
There are some great prizes to motivate you! FIVE of the prizes are an Annual Star Membership to The Quilt Show! These are valued at $49 each and include instant access to over 250 quilt shows along with free BOM patterns and more. This prize is open to ALL (international and domestic) entries.
The other prize is a gorgeous fat quarter bundle of Hoffman Batiks in a rainbow of colors. There are 20 fat quarters in the bundle that have been hand-dyed in Bali. This prize is available to US entries only due to shipping costs.
This version of the Linky tool is new to me, but it should be fairly easy to add your photo to it. If it requires a URL and you don’t have one, try adding my website URL: http://thecraftyquilter.com after you’ve uploaded your photo. In the description field, you can use your name or just add “Summer Fun Quilt”. If anyone has a problem, please email me and I’ll help you out.
- The link-up is open to anyone who has made a Summer Fun Quilt using my tutorials.
- It does NOT need to be quilted and bound; tops only will be fine.
- You don’t need to have a blog or website to enter the link-up.
- One entry per person.
- The link-up will remain open until July 20, 2018. Six winners will be drawn at random on July 21, 2018.
- International entries are welcome.
I can’t figure out the linking part either. Nor can I find an email address to send my picture. But I do think mine turned out pretty cute, so thanks for the instructions!
Thanks for all of your instructions. I really enjoyed seeing each square as it was done. I was always so surprised when they worked out so well. Love my new wall hanging. Happy Summer to you.
So happy that I participated in this awesome sew along. And that after two attempts I got my photo added :^)
Thanks Julie. Good Luck to all who participated, beautiful job ladies.
Julie, this was such a fun project…you are the best! I’m already thinking about how I could do one for winter, spring and fall. Lol. Typical quilter.
Hi Julie! Help! Somehow it downloaded 3 pictures of mine instead of just 1 – first time doing this. Can you get rid of two of them – I don’t think I can. Thanks! Sue E.
Hello Julie; I had such a great time creating this quilt that you designed! It helped me so much during such a difficult time. I was very worried about uploading a link since it has been a long time since I have shared any pictures. Yet, it was actually quite simple. Thank you so much for every single part of this QAL it was fabulous and a great learning experience! Have a spectacular day!
I’ve been wanting to do a summer wall hanging for a number of years now Even had some ideas and plans, but they never came to fruition. Thank you so much for this wonderful project. I so thoroughly enjoy making it. Looking forward to your future projects.
Do you, by chance, have templates for the rest of the alphabet?
Julie, thanks again for designing and hosting this QAL. I love my new wall hanging, and appreciated your design skills and attention to details in the direction. I can see a lot of little 4-H sewers getting excited about a project like this. Your directions and photos would make it possible for each of them to have success! I hope you will consider doing a similar project in the fall!
Julie – Thank you so much for hosting this QAL. It was my first and I had the greatest time! I learned lots of new things and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, how it turned out. I am so sad to hear you won’t be doing a QAL for each season, but I realize it must be very labor intensive. You are a great teacher and your tutorials were easy peasy to follow.
Julie , I tried to upload my quilt picture; however, I do not see my image. I know only one entry is allowed. Is it ok if I try to upload again.
Oh gosh! I labeled my top, SinnerFun, lol. Sorry about that.
Thanks for hosting!
I”m glad we have a little time to finish our top…i have one day off i can sit and sew between now and then before I’m off on vacation and the sewing machine will be on a trip of it’s own- HOME. I decided to change up my butterfly adding a purple pop like yours so i will be redoing this block. Applique and piecing the blocks together and that should do it! Can’t wait to see everyone’s quilt tops.
Can’t figure out how to do link up. Says closed. Then tried the not using part and it had me create an account . Then tried to do a link with your info but it seemed to be doing a new party for me. Help please.
I apologize for the confusion. I am trying to configure this correctly, and it seems to have a mind of its own. If you want to send me your photo via email, I’ll manually add it to the link up. Thanks for your patience.

I’m trying to link up, but it says it has closed?
