My Project is in Fat Quarterly Ezine!

My Modern Tulip Table Runner made it to Fat Quarterly Ezine!  A while ago, I saw a designer challenge being offering at Fat Quarterly and I jumped (well, pondered actually) at the chance to play.  The challenge was to take a traditional block and make it modern.

Now, I’m more of a traditional kind of gal, but I was excited to give this a try.  I decided to use solids from Marcus Brothers and lots of straight line quilting to make the tulip block into a modern table runner.  I think it worked!

I made an extra block and used it for the back, so my table runner is reversible.

I tried really hard got really lucky with the quilting lines matching up on the back.
