Welcome to Sew Thankful Sunday – my day to share what I am thankful for from this beautiful blogging community!
1. Faith at Fresh Lemons has a new Community Giving Page which includes a list of ways that we, as quilters, can help our global community in times of need.
Here is a photo of the many “To Boston with Love” flags (1,600 total!) that were donated recently and are now being displayed at The Museum of Fine Arts:
2. We all love a good deal, right? This Memorial Day weekend is full of them. Go visit Fresh Lemons (hello again!) to see a comprehensive list of sales for quilters.
3. Speaking of sales, make sure to visit the Craftsy Memorial Day Sale. For every class sold this weekend, Craftsy will donate a portion of the proceeds to benefit a veterans’ organization. Select classes will be on sale up to 60% off!
4. Are you planning on doing any camping this summer? Stacy from She’s {kinda} Crafty has a tutorial showing you how to make the cutest camping pillow! I think this is such a great idea and it would be perfect for trips in the car with little ones, too.
5. The blog at Craftsy recently posted a great article about how quilters can effectively use Flickr to share photos and find inspiration. If you’re not familiar with Flickr, this would be a great place to start. Here’s a screen shot of my Flickr photostream:
6. I have been surprisingly lucky (and blessed) to be the winner of THREE giveaways in the last two weeks! It’s a rare thing, especially for me and I am sew thankful.
First, I won a copy of the Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks magazine from Emily at Simple Girl, Simple Life (plus she threw in some fabric scraps for good measure)!
Then I was the lucky winner of a Fat Quarter Shop Gift Certificate and a fat quarter bundle of Serenity from Riley Blake in Denise’s giveaway at Pieced Brain:
And lastly, I won a fat quarter sampler of the Botanical Beauty Collection by Connecting Threads from Geta’s Quilting Studio.
One last thing that I received unexpectedly this week was a gift from one of my quilt students. Michiko gave me a set of fabrics that she brought back from Japan that are just beautiful and a real treasure to me. Thank you so much Michiko!
7. One final note on this Memorial Day Weekend. Thank you to the men and women who have served our country. You make us stronger and you make us proud!

Wow you are so lucky:)! Colors of Botanical Beauty Collection is so beautiful. Also I like the butterfly. Japanese fabrics looks very beautiful, too! I am interested in how you are going to arrange them. Sounds like lots of fun project ahead!!
