Christmas in July Tutorial for Benartex & a Giveaway!

Hey everybody!  Today I am sharing a project at Sew In Love {with Fabric}, the blog for Benartex Fabrics.  They are having a Christmas in July Blog Hop and you can find my tutorial for a Star Bright Wall Hanging there!

Christmas in July BenartexI love their entire collection of holiday fabrics, but Home for the Holidays is my favorite!  The border fabric I used for my wall hanging (large poinsettias on an aqua background) was my inspiration.  From there, I started in the middle (the star applique) and worked my way out to the pieced border.  The wall hanging is 42 1/2″ square, so it could be used as a small table quilt as well.

More good news:  Benartex is giving away a fat quarter bundle of Home for the Holidays!  There are two ways to enter the giveaway (and you can use both):

1.  Sign up to follow Benartex’s blog and then leave a comment here, telling us that you have done so.  If you’re already signed up, great!  Just let us know.

2.  Follow my blog and then leave a comment here, telling me that you have done so.  If you already have, great!  Just let me know.

I’ll pick a winner in one week, August 5th.

One more thing!  Benartex is having a cookie recipe exchange on their Facebook page.  I’ve added my favorite holiday cookie recipe, Chocolate Caramel Crunch Bars.  They will be compiling all of the entries into a pdf recipe book to share!

All of this talk about Christmas and cookies is making me want to do some sewing and baking!  I think I’ll take the calorie-free option and head to my sewing room.

Have a great week!
