Updates and new happenings

Happy May Day! I think it’s time to share a few updates and tell you what’s happening at The Crafty Quilter headquarters. It’s nice to be able to check in with you and keep you up to date on all the things, big and little!

First of all, I have a house full of family visiting this week! My daughter’s family from Texas (including our granddaughters), my daughter and fiance from Seattle, and my daughter in San Francisco (45 minutes away) are all here to visit and celebrate my parent’s 70th wedding anniversary this weekend. My son is also around – he just moved to Burlingame (30 minutes away) and will pop in when he can.

I will be busy cooking and playing and babysitting for seven glorious days (starting yesterday). I won’t have much time to sew, but I do have a few things to tell you about in the quilting world.

If you live in the bay area of California, you should visit the Santa Clara Valley Quilt Association’s quilt show at the Santa Clara Convention Center this weekend, May 4/5. There will be beautiful quilts on display and vendors to peruse. The quilt shop that I work at, The Granary, will have a booth there and you will definitely want to check them out. I’ve been eyeing all of the fabric bundles and kits they’ve been getting ready for the show. I wish I could be there, but I’ll be celebrating….

The 2019 UFO & WIP Challenge link-up for April is still open until Saturday, May 4 at midnight PST. There are 39 beautiful entries so far and you can see them all here. The link-up entries were not showing up on my blog at first, but that’s been fixed and now you can see them all.

I appreciate all of your lovely comments on my sewing room. I will respond to you when the dust has settled, but I just wanted to let you know that I have read them and treasure them.

Sew Thankful Sunday will be a few days late this month. I apologize for that, but I have two beautiful granddaughters to chase around and they won’t stop running in circles! Getting a picture of both of them together, smiling and in focus is next to impossible. I’ll keep trying, though. You can check out Sew Thankful Sunday for May 2018 here.

Thanks for your patience and taking the time to read my updates. I’m excited for next week as I get back on schedule and focus on quilting and blogging. Have a wonderful day!
