My Top 5 favorite podcasts for quilters
If you’re looking for some good podcasts to listen to, you’re in luck! I’m sharing my TOP 5 favorite podcasts for quilters that you are sure to enjoy! I love listening to anything related to quilting especially while I’m sewing, but often when I’m driving or out for a walk. Quilting podcasts are entertaining and educational at the same time!

My top 5 quilting podcasts
- The one I never miss is A Quilting Life Podcast with Sherri McConnell & Chelsi Stratton. This mother/daughter duo are both fabric designers for Moda. They mix quilting tips, favorite finds, craft industry updates and family life in a way that is light hearted and entertaining. Son, Billy, is behind the scenes making sure everything sounds and looks just right. Available on YouTube as well.
- The Quilter on Fire Podcast allows you to take a peak into the lives of some of the best known quilters today. Host, Brandy Maslowski, interviews quilters from all over the world. They share their creative journey and how they got started in quilting. It’s always fun to get to know someone new (or a little better)!
- If you trend as a modern quilter, then Quilt Buzz is the podcast for you. Hostesses Amanda Carye and Wendy Chow interview top quilters from the industry and ask the best questions such as, “What do you eat while you’re quilting and who’s your current quilt crush?” You’ll be entertained and enlightened!
- How could you go wrong with a podcast named Measure Twice, Cut Once? Susan Smith shares life and business lessons learned through quilting. I found this podcast by accident after hearing her interview with Amy Smart at Diary Of A Quilter. As Susan chats about creativity, she reveals the joys and hope quilting can bring to us as a hobby and a business.
- Not Your Granny’s Quilt Show is new to my list, but full of great content. Amanda discusses the ups and downs of quilting, interviews some of her favorite quilters, and talks about life as a modern, millennial quilter.
Other quilting podcasts that are worth mentioning
In-appropriate Quilters Podcast. Two friends, Leslie and and Rochelle, get together and talk about all things quilting and a few things inappropriate. Silly and fun for everyone!
Simple Handmade Everyday is a lovely podcast about living a creative and intentional life. Kristin Esser is the host and she shares the everyday enjoyments of life which include her favorite teas, books, shows, quilting and knitting projects. She includes a little about keeping a cozy, organized home, too.
American Patchwork & Quilting Podcast. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention this podcast, although it doesn’t look like it’s been updated with new content in a while. There is still a valuable number of shows in the archive that are worth listening to.
Where to listen to podcasts
There are several apps and platforms that you can use to listen to a podcast. Most are free to use but may come with ads unless you upgrade to a premium subscription.
- I use Apple Podcasts most of the time because it’s convenient for me since I have an Apple phone. It’s free to use, but some content may require a subscription. (I haven’t run into this).
- Spotify is another good choice. It has a free ad-supported version and premium subscription if you want to forgo the ads.
- There is also Pocket Casts which is an app for both Android and iOS with free and paid tiers.
- iHeart Radio is another popular option that is free with premium tiers available as well.

I was unable to connect with Measure Twice, Cut Once podcast.
I watch/listen to A Quilting Life. Love the information and interaction from the “family” team. I will check out some of the others you mentioned. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the recommendations. I am always looking for fun quilting podcasts. Not sure if you noticed but Quilt Buzz hasn’t had a new podcast in over a year! Most of those you mentioned are all great, and yes I believe the American Patchwork and Quilting one has been discontinued unfortunately.
Thank you, Julie for the quilting podcasters. I will have to look at all of them. One quilting podcaster I like is Beth at My Sewing Room. It’s very relaxing for me to watch her work on her quilts. Pola Quilting, she makes her quilts from men’s shirts. I’ve never made a quilt from men’s shirts but enjoy seeing her unique quilts.
