Splendid Sampler blocks and a few favorite rulers

2 / 22 / 172 / 22 / 17

Happy Wednesday friends!  After finishing up a few big projects, it’s always nice to have something small (and ongoing) to work on such as the Splendid Sampler blocks.  The last block, #100, was published last week and it’s one of my favorites.  It was designed by Kate Spain and it’s called “Centered”.  I love the… Read More

Happy Wednesday!  I’ve got some WIP’s to show you, but first I want to tell you that I’m extending the deadline for the August UFO link up until Sunday, Sept. 11, midnight (PST).  I’m leaving town tomorrow morning for 6 days (visiting my daughter and her husband in Seattle (area), and I thought you guys… Read More

Sunday stash and a few WIP’s

8 / 21 / 16

Sunday stash report:  I have attempted to NOT buy fabric online for a long short time, but I couldn’t resist this bright bundle of One Room Schoolhouse by Brenda Ratliff for RJR Fabrics.  I saw it on Instagram and I was hooked.  Can you blame me? No plans for this group of fabrics yet.  I’m… Read More

Hey everyone!  I’ve got my July UFO project chosen and laid out.  How about you?  Are you still with me in saying goodbye to your UFO pile this year? This month I’ll be tackling the applique borders for my A-Z for Ewe and Me quilt.  This quilt was started in 2014 as I created video… Read More

Keeping up and works in progress

5 / 25 / 16

Did you know there are two extra layers of fabric Did you know there are two extra layers of fabric in the point of flying geese made with the 4-at-a-time (no waste) method? The good news is it’s easy to fix!
.
➡️Draw a line from corner to corner where the two smaller squares overlap.
➡️Cut the top two layers on that line. ✂️
➡️Now the smaller squares will butt up against each other. Continue as you normally would.
➡️Do NOT trim the remaining small squares.
➡️Now you have 5 layers of fabric in the seam allowance at the FG point instead of 7! 😃
