Cozy Quilts For The Modern Home book review
One of my favorite pastimes is flipping through the pages of a beautiful quilt book or magazine while sipping tea in the afternoon. The projects and images bring me joy and inspiration time and time again. That’s why I get especially excited when a new release immediately speaks to my quilting style. In this Cozy Quilts for the Modern Home book review, I’m sharing my thoughts on the newly released Cozy Quilts for the Modern Home by Abby Luchsinger — a collection of cozy, modern quilt patterns to fit any season. I’m excited to give you an honest, unsolicited review and show you what I love about it.

What is Cozy Quilts For The Modern Home about?
The title, Cozy Quilts for the Modern Home, really captures what this book is all about. The projects have a warm and cozy feel with a modern vibe, but you can see the traditional roots behind each one. As a quilter who loves traditional but occasionally leans modern, I found the book to be fun and appealing!
Skill level and project variety
The projects range nicely in both size and skill level. Most of the designs are straightforward and approachable — perfect for a confident beginner who wants a successful finish. A few patterns offer more complexity if you’re ready to stretch your skills. Although I consider myself an advanced quilter, I still love the ease and quick progress that come with the simpler projects.
The book features a lovely mix of quilt patterns that move beautifully through the seasons. Alongside the full-size quilts, there are also six smaller projects, including home décor pieces, bags, and pouches. These smaller makes are perfect when you want something quick and rewarding or a break between larger quilts. I really appreciate the range of options — it makes the book feel both inspiring and practical for everyday quilting.

Quilting with the seasons
Cozy Quilts For the Modern Home includes 16 projects to show off the beauty of each season. As quilters, we often create in rhythm with the seasons, so it’s especially helpful to find projects that capture the feeling of each time of year.

Spring
When Spring is around the corner, we’re looking for projects that reflect new beginnings and colors that are light and happy. If you’re in the mood for flowers and rainbows, you’ll find some beautiful designs here.

Summer
Summer includes picnics, plenty of sunshine and bright, saturated colors. You’re sure to find the perfect project for your next picnic or trip to the farmer’s market in this section.

Autumn
Autumn brings my favorite of nature’s transitions displayed in the earthy hues and shorter days — it’s time to snuggle under a comfy quilt! It’s a season of change and you’ll see that reflected in these warm quilts and a family-friendly project.

Winter
Finally, the rhythm of winter finds a slower pace with calm colors and muted tones. Now is when we turn to the coziest of quilts and seasonal projects.

Final thoughts on Cozy Quilts For The Modern Home
It’s always special to find a quilt book that truly aligns with your creative spirit. I come from a traditional quilting background, but I deeply appreciate the modern style that continues to evolve within our craft. Cozy Quilts for the Modern Home blends those two worlds beautifully, creating projects that feel both fresh and familiar.
As a quilter who is inspired by the changing seasons, I especially love the thoughtful flow of this book. Each section reflects the mood and colors of the season so naturally, making it easy to envision these quilts displayed throughout the year.

At the end of the day, we all want a quilting book that is both useful and enjoyable. I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed this one — and there are nine quilts in this collection that I want to make. Now that’s saying something!
If you love modern quilts with traditional charm and seasonal inspiration, this book is absolutely worth adding to your collection.

How delightful to receive a post that just shares the love of quilting; I thoroughly enjoyed your review of that book, without any commercial hype. A lovely start to my day, Thankyou. Kate
Thank you for your review of this and the photos! I am reluctant at time to buy a modern quilt book, some of the are basically white with a little splash of color in the middle. While that’s not my thing I love her use of color on these quilts. Just enough negative space without overtaking the project. I am excited to get this book now and just from your page I see three I want to make plus that strawberry tote! To die for! I love your blog. Keep up the great work you are so inspiring!
